In case you haven’t noticed, we’re announcing artists and placing tickets on sale much sooner than we have in years past. Boz Scaggs is just one of those concerts we’ve been working on for the past several months and are ecstatic to announce. After all, he’s music legend. A music legend you can see right here at our festival this August 1.
With a catalog of music spanning from 1965 to now, we’re anticipating a concert rich with the diversity that Scaggs has incorporated into his musical endeavors. He began his career with classic rock in bands like the Marksmen and Steve Miller Band and has constantly evolved with his most recent album a collection of jazz standards from artists such as Chet Baker and Duke Ellington.
Of creating this most recent album Scaggs remarks, “So many people in the last decade have gone back to the standards, the list is as long as my arm. Lots of them with big orchestras, too. It seemed pointless to even go there unless we were going to do something to make these songs our own…We had to find an emotional connection. It’s a testament to the songs themselves that they keep getting redone, but that makes it tricky, too. We played around a lot with different tempos and feels, pushed the songs in different directions.”

I’d like to purchase 2 tickets for the Boz Scaggs concert – how can I order them, and what hotel/motel is close by to stay overnight?
Deb – Tickets are available online at TahoeMusic.org or by phone at 530-583-3101. There are many great hotels nearby for overnight including Hampton Inn and Suites and Cedar House Sport Hotel, both in Truckee. See you at the show!
My husband and I are going to the show with a bunch of friends and are looking very forward to it. We can bring out picnic dinner and beverages into the event, correct?
