Auditions are Now Open!

We’ve launched the homepage for our new Orchestra Academy and are now taking submissions for the 2010 session. Get all the details, fill out the application form and review the audition video repertoire online.

Auditions continue through March 15, and selected finalists will be named April 15. Students will study and rehearse for 10 days in this intensive program designed to provide real-world experience and musical instruction by principal players for major U.S. orchestras including Ariana Ghez and Jerry Grossman. The orchestra will also perform at two of the festival’s summer concerts and several additional concerts in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas.

Home Giveaway Benefits Tahoe Area Nonprofits

condo_sm_01Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation is supporting Lake Tahoe nonprofits with a whopper of a giveaway. Anyone can purchase a $100 raffle ticket and they’re entered to win a $1.4 million Northstar home with a $150,000 home décor package and membership in the Tahoe Mountain Club or $1 million cash.

In addition to the grand prize drawing, which is February 14, 2010, the promotion has several drawings leading up to it to award vacation packages, cash and even a new car. The first of the preliminary drawings was at the festival’s August 1 Boz Scaggs concert.

Proceeds from the raffle will help the nonprofit, Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation, to enrich the quality of life in the Truckee/North Lake Tahoe region through cultural, environmental, educational and charitable pursuits. The Lake Tahoe Music Festival receives grant funding from the foundation which supports the festival’s ongoing Educational Outreach Programs.

Enter to win.

One Incredible Summer of Music

Once again we brought the best in jazz, classic rock, classical and even Broadway to venues throughout the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas. Actually, plans are already underway for our 2010 season and we look forward to continuing the momentum we’ve started for yet another groundbreaking season.
